PAC is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all its members, as well as of all people who attend its services, programs and other events. We have a special commitment to children, young people and vulnerable persons in recognition of the particular moral and legal responsibility we have to such people. We will endeavour to provide a safe and supportive environment for everyone who attends our services, programs and other events. PAC has adopted the ChildSafe SP3™ system and is committed to the sound implementation of the ChildSafe processes, practices and procedures. As an organisation that is involved with children, we are committed to the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.
Child Safety at Perth Alliance Church (South)
We endeavour to make all of our ministry programs, activities and events at PACS safe, whether onsite or offsite. Our policies and practices are governed by our Child Safety Policy, our constitution and government regulations. The Board of Elders of PACS is ultimately responsible for the Child Safety policies and practices that are implemented by staff, Team Leaders and volunteers at PACS.
Child Safety Training
As part of our commitment to create a safe environment, we require all our ministry staff, volunteers and leaders to complete online Child Safety training as part of their ministry training. This training equips them to serve in their ministry for the safety of those they serve as well as for their own safety. The training is provided by ChildSafe Australia and is renewed regularly.
Working with Children Check
We require all ministry staff, volunteers and leaders serving children and youth (0-18) at PACS hold a current Working with Children Check card, as required by WA legislation. Licensed Workers with the C&MA of Australia are also required to provide a valid National Police Certificate.
Child Safety Officers
Each area of ministry involving children is overseen by a Child Safety Officer (CSO) who is ultimately accountable to the Risk Management Officer (RMO) on the Board of Elders. CSOs work closely with the Coordinator and Team Leaders in each area of ministry to ensure the implementation and compliance with Child Safety standards.
